The government of Punjab has launched a scholarship scheme, which is known as Ashirwad Scholarship to provide free education to the needy and poor children. The scheme is mainly for the SC/ST and OBC students. The main objective of the scheme is to take the courses of UG/PG across Punjab state. What are the eligibility criteria for the Ashirwad scholarship?

  • The Indian Nationals who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC category are competent to apply for the Ashirwad Scholarship 2021.
  • The candidates must have passed class 10th from any government, private or any other recognized university or Board of Secondary Education of Punjab.
  • The age of the candidate should be less than 17 years while applying for the fellowship program.
  •  The family revenue of the SC/ ST aspirant must be less than 2.5 lakhs per annum. In the case of OBC candidates, it should be no more than 1 Lakh per annum.
  •  The aspirants who are pursuing the equivalent or distance courses are also eligible for this scholarship.
  •  The candidates pursuing PG in medicine are not authorized to practice during their course.
  • The aspirants who earn this scholarship are not eligible to apply for any other scholarships.

What are the benefits of Ashirwad Scholarship?

The benefits of Ashirwad Scholarship are as follows.

  • Money for higher education: The aspirants who belong from SC/ST/OBC category will receive money so that they can complete their post-matriculation studies irrespective of streams.
  • Study tours: The students will receive a study yours. The amount is determined as ₹ 900 for OBC and ₹ 1600 per annum for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe for studying professional and technical courses.
  • Fee charges: The aspirants will get paid for the fees such as tuition, magazine, library, medical examination, etc.
  • Thesis typing and printing charges – The candidates will get a money up to ₹ 1000 per annum for the OBC students and ₹ 1600 per annum for SC/ST students. They will be paid on the suggestion of the head of the organization.
  • The handicap students will receive a special allowance from the scheme.

How to apply for the Post matric Ashirwad scholarship 2024?

Ashirwad Scholarship forms will be accessible online from 18th September 2024. The application process is going to be closed on 01st November 2024. The interested candidates must follow the steps for applying for Ashirwad Scholarship.

  • The first thing that the candidates have to perform is to visit the official website link.
  • Now, click on the Post Matric scholarship portal appearing under the student corner section.
  • It is a crucial step. Here, the candidates need to enrol as a new user for generating Login Id and password for the Ashirwad scholarship form.
  • Now, visit the login page and apply for the scholarship by using application Id and password.
  • Now, fill the fields in the Ashirwad Scholarship online application form with verified accurate details.
  • After completing everything, you have to upload all the required documents and click on submit Button.
  • You should take a copy of the filled application form for future purpose.

The mandatory documents are as follows.

  • Two recent passport size photos.
  • Address proof.
  • Marksheet or documents of your previous exams.
  • Income certificate of the family.
  • If you possess any disability, then provide the certificate.
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Attested caste certificate.
  • Photocopy of the first page of the bank.

What is the renewal process of Ashirwad Scholarship?

The aspirants who had already registered with Ashirwad Scholarship must renew it every year. The candidate should have a minimum of 75% of the class attendance to be eligible for the renewal of the scholarship application. Follow these steps to complete the Ashirwad Scholarship Renewal.

  • First, visit the official website.
  • Now, complete the login process by stepping with the old application Id and password.
  • Now, you should edit the old application form.
  • Make the improvements in the application form by edit the option.
  • After that, submit the renewal application form.
  • Check the status online and take a copy of the application form for future reference.
