Eligibility Criteria for the Prerana Scholarship

1.The student applying for this scholarship have to be a permanent resident of Odisha and belong to any of these categories:
- SC
- ST
- EBC
- OBC
- SEBC
2.Students from the general category who come in the Economically Backward Class(EBC) category are also eligible for applying for this scholarship.
3.The annual income of the family must not exceed 2.5 lakh in the case of SC and ST, and for OBC/SEBC, it should not exceed 1.5 lakh.
4.And, for the students from the EBC general category, the annual family income must not be more than 1 lakh. Also, he is required to pursue further study only from government institutions.
5.Candidates applying for the Prerana scholarship must have secured at least 50% in their previous exams.
How is the selection made?
It is a merit-based selection process where the applications are scrutinized by the Institute and then is transferred to the District Welfare Officers (DOWs), who then further examine the applications. The respective officers take the final decision, and then the scholarship amount is sanctioned to the selected candidates.
How to apply for the Prerana scholarship online?
You need to follow these steps to fill the application form online.
1.Visit the official Portal of Prerana scholarship and then go to the Register button available at the top right corner of the screen.

2.In case you are already registered, you can use your student application ID and password to log in and if you want to do a new registration, then select the “Register” option.
3.It will take you to your new page, where you can continue the further process. Read the instructions on the screen carefully and follow them.
4.After completing everything and providing the details asked, hit on the submit button, and after submitting your form, you can take a print of it.
5.Then submit the barcode to the institute for further verifications.
